Eucharist Ministers

A Eucharistic Minister is a lay person authorized to administer consecrated elements at a celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Eucharistic Ministers are licensed by the Bishop and act under the direction of the Rector. They are selected on the basis of their participation in the worship of the parish, active involvement in the leadership and life of the parish community, and for their abilities in reading, speaking and praying with others. They are expected to follow a rule of life that includes Bible reading and study, and prayer with intercession for those who are sick and infirm.

During Trinity’s Sunday worship services, at least one Eucharistic Minister may stand with the Rector for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and would administer the chalice during communion. The Eucharistic Minister also leads the congregation in praying the Psalm and the Prayers of the People.
