Bishop's Visitation

May 9, 2010

The Rt. Rev. Herbert Donovan will make an official visitation to Trinity Church on behalf of the Bishop of New York on May 9th. At the 10 AM service, Bishop Donovan will lead us in a celebration of our baptismal life, and he will confirm, receive, and reaffirm those who wish to make a renewed commitment of their baptismal faith.

Those who have been baptized as children and are prepared to make a mature public commitment of their baptismal faith are invited to be "Confirmed." Persons who were baptized in another branch of the Church and have joined in the worship and ministry of the Episcopal Church are invited to be "Received" with prayer and the laying on of hands by the Bishop. Also, anyone who wishes to publicly "Reaffirm" their Baptismal Vows with prayer and the laying on of hands by the bishop are invited to do so.

On Sundays, March 14th, 21st, and 28th and April 11th and 18th, there will be a series of classes on what it means to be an Episcopalian. Anyone who wishes to deepen their understanding of the Church are invited to attend. Please speak with the Rector if you are interested in being confirmed, received, or to reaffirm your baptismal vows.
